Do It Anyway

Martina McBride's song "Anyway" talks about things that might not ever come to be, that might scare or intimidate you, that may never be appreciated, or that might not even be accepted, but you do them anyway because you know it's good for you and it's where your heart and hope lie. Therefore, knowing that how my family acts, how we look, what we choose to enjoy, or even what we say and believe may not be appreciated or accepted, I still want us to be who we are anyway...do it anyway.

Flag Ceremony

At Aaris' school's final Dino Pride Gathering (the whole school gathers once a month to hand out recognitions and awards) her girl scout troop was asked to perform the flag ceremony. To prepare the girls gathered to practice. They draw names to see who would hold the flags. They also all tried out for the command call outs. Aaris and Madison where found to be the ones to be the best at projecting their voices. We practiced the night before at home. Her and Madison alternated on the necessary commands. Aaris was very excited. The fact that the ceremony fell on her actual birthday added to the excitement. The girls did great! There was one very cute moment when Aaris accidentally said Madison's line and they had a whispering moment to figure out how to get back on track.
