breaking routine

In the morning after we've all had breakfast I like to take the kids upstairs where we go from one room to the next and get each one of us completely ready for the day. The kids usually start to get distracted and want to start playing with something, but I always tell them we have to finish getting ready first. We always start with Titus, then Aaris, and then me, and well, I rarely reach the completely ready for the day stage before I'm needed by one or both of the kids. Anyway, this morning I put Titus down on the ground after changing him and we were supposed to move onto Aaris's room but Aaris grabbed one of Titus's toys and, of course Titus always wanting to do exactly what Aaris does, started playing right away as well. They were having such a great time playing together and sharing perfectly that I just couldn't stop them. Titus loved dropping his money into the piggy bank, and Aaris loved being in charge and sorting the money. So, we broke routine and had a play-time in the middle of getting ready, but seeing my kids truly enjoying each other is always well worth it....so we did it anyway.
