It Snowed!

On, February 4, 2011 Aaron and I were awoken at 5:00 am by a call from the school district telling us that there was no school due to snow.  The next thing I remember was banging on my bedroom patio door.  What?  Well, the kids had woken up, seen the snow and decided to go out.  Aaris being the little mommy made sure that she, Titus and Skylyn had had coats, hats, and mittens on before they went out to play in the snow.  The one thing she did forget was to turn the lock button to unlock before they went outside.  They ended up stuck outside and started to bang on my door so that they could get in.  I threw on my robe, grabbed my camera, and took some pictures.  Then, we went in and made some muffins while watching "Frosty the Snowman."  Then, we went out to start making a real snowman for ourselves.  Our sweet neighborhood friends, the Victoria's (both in the 7th grade, but named Victoria, and both super sweet girls that live on our street).  They started to help us shovel clean snow off of ours and the neighbors driveways.  Younger kids took turns going inside to get warmed up.  But, we pulled off a pretty great snowman, I'd say.  Unfortunately, Aaron being the devoted man of integrity that he is, got up early and went in to work and missed out.  All we saw were his footprints in the snow.  Boy did we miss him.  We went back inside and watched "The Polar Express" because it snowed in that movie as well.  We made a fire and the kids drank hot chocolate to warm up.  Aaris isn't suppose to have sugar, so my mom told me of recipe her grandmother made a lot when she was a little girl.  Take a box of gelatin (sugar free), and combine it with a little more warm water than normally required and drink it.  Aaris loved it.  Fun snow day!
