The Date is Set

I had my regular ob/gyn appointment today. I've gained back my pound from last week and I'm dilated another centimeter. My blood pressure was much higher than normal (132 over 90 something instead of the regular 106 over 67) but I'm pretty sure that is due to the fact that I haven't sleep much at all the last two night because of contractions. I couldn't see my regular doctor because she had an emergency situation with another patient, but her partner, whom I've seen before, saw me. She said that since the ultrasound showed Skylyn in the less than 10%, we will go ahead and induce her next week at 37 weeks. The reasoning behind this is that maybe my placenta is starting to weaken and give out. This seems possible since I was measuring on time and schedule until now. She'll be considered a term baby by then anyway, so there shouldn't be any complications of a premature baby. Plus, she should probably grow more quickly outside the womb at that point than inside. We scheduled the induction for Wednesday, Nov. 12. Skylyn's middle name is going to be Christine. It means "follower of Christ", and even more special, it is my mom's middle name. My mom's birthday is Nov. 14. We thought about waiting until Friday, Nov. 14 to be induced, but my doctor says we should go ahead and get her out in case the placenta really starts to fail. Also, for my own personal reasoning, my doctor is not on call that day. Anyway, at this point I have 8 days until I get to hold Skylyn in my arms. So exciting!!!!!!
