Our last "first" Halloween

This year I realized that this would be our last "first" Halloween.  What do I mean by this?  Well, this would be that last time one of my kids really experienced Halloween for the first time.  Skylyn was too young to understand last year, but this year she completely got it and was nothing less of ecstatic at EVERY house.  I need to re-watch my video, but I'm pretty sure she ran too and from every house yelling "more candy!"  Aaris, being the motherly type, had to poignantly point out to every candy-passer-outer that Skylyn does not like chocolate almost in the same breath as "trick-or-treat.".  Therefore, Titus learn to jump in just as quickly yelling "I love chocolate!"  It got funnier and funnier at every single house.  We only did out loop we live on, but that was the perfect amount of time for the kids.

This year we went shopping in Sept. at the consignment store for costumes.  As soon as Aaris so the angel costume, there was no way she would consider being anything else.  Skylyn was a lamb because it was the only costume she would keep on for more then 30 seconds.  Titus was going to be Bulls-eye from the Toy Story movies, but after receiving a Darth Vader costume for his birthday (complete with breathing sound machine in mask and light saber), the force was too strong and Bulls-eye got sold on Craigslist.  (One night the week before Halloween we spontaneously saw that a Toy Store close to our house was having a Halloween event so the kids just threw on some dress up clothes from the playroom and went to the event.)

Finally, Aaris begged that we stay home and trick-or-treat in our own neighborhood this year.  Last year was our first year in our house, but we were in Southlake, enjoying Aaron's brother's (Alan's) new house for Halloween.  We were also VERY honored to have the kid's Great-Ma and Great-Pa (Albert's parents) be with us this year along with both my and Aaron's parents.  It was a fantastic family affair.

Oh, and one funny not...I don't know if anyone will want to come back to our house to ask for candy next year.  After Vicki (aka Mamaw) had trick-or-treated with our kids for a bit she went back and handed out candy at our house with Ma and Pa.  When we came back were heard that in order for someone to get candy from her they had to sing her a Halloween song.  She is so funny.

Oh and one more REALLY funny story.  Aaron and the kids had already been up on the house and then the trees in our front yard for about two weekends time of work installing Christmas lights by the time that Halloween came around.  For Halloween Aaron went dressed at Tony Romo; quarterback of the Dallas Cowboy's football team; injured and sidelined due to a broken collar bone.  Well, all but ONE person on our whole block truly thought that he had fallen out of the tree putting up our Christmas lights and had injured himself.  Can't believe there is only one other true Cowboys fan on our loop!
