Zoo - Glorious Zoo

Right at the end of the summer, I finally got to do what I had been wanting to do all summer - I got to go on an outing with my kids.  What a glorious thing to be privileged to do again... to be an active mom.  At the beginning of the summer I had grand ideas for lots of outings and activities with the kids, but I spent most of the summer in my bed or at the doctors.  And, half of the time I wasn't even able to watch my own kids...I only got to hear them from behind the door.  So several weeks after my surgery, the kids and I carpooled with one of my dearest friends, Karen Shelton, and her two sweet kids, Luke (3 days older then Aaris) and Drew (4 younger than Titus) to the San Antonio Zoo.  We had so much fun!!!  The kids love being together and it was a huge help for me to have Karen since it was my first big physical task on my own with the kids.  So, we started the summer with a bang, the middle was no fun at all, but we at least got to end with a bang as well!

All the kids ready to start their adventure

I think the statue was hot and Skylyn let me know that

This was one of the kid's favorite things - every once in awhile
a huge group of birds would get spooked and fly over our heads
