Aaris's school has an annual food drive to help provide the Round Rock Service Center with canned food and other non-perishable food items for those in need in our community.
I thought it was a great opportunity for Aaris to get active in serving. So, I threw out the idea to her that we could walk our Loop and ask our neighbors to donate. She was on board. We went out three nights and knock every house on our loop (55 houses). She was so cute. She got so excited that they were all saying "yes." By the end she thought it was awesome that not one person didn't want to help.
Aaris helped to collect 137 non-perishable food items that we took up to the school to donate.
Aaris's school has a monthly school wide gathering, Dino Pride, where they honor students selected by the teachers for improvements, recognitions, and outstanding work. Aaris got nominated by her teacher, Mrs. Hernandez, to receive an award for her efforts in the Food Drive and for her creative writing skills. We are so privileged to have a precious daughter like Aaris who is willing and trying to use the talents God gave her.
