3 days to go

Well, I think this will be the last big day of events until Aaris's surgery. Our day started out earlier than normal. We had to be on the road by 7:00 am to get to the Children's hospital by 8:00 to get Aaris's pre-op work done. She got x-rays done, blood drown, blood pressure taken, oxygen percentile measured, and weighed and measured. And of course there was paperwork for me to sign and doctors to listen to and prep work to understand and gather. It was a day of reality realization for me. I was not prepared to know that Aaris could have a breathing tube in until Friday morning. I didn't realize that she would be so heavily sedated for so many days and have amnesia of this time due to the pain medicine. She could be in ICU for a couple of days. This all is not fun to hear. But, you know, I also know that Aaris could be one of those extremely quick healers because of all of the prayers being lifted up on her behalf. She could start recovering so quickly that she could have the tube taken out right after she is stabilized after surgery, and she could be taken out of ICU after a day. I think Aaris's healing could be much different than most others because she's got a lot of God power on her side.

Then, by 1:00 pm we were back downtown for our last check-up with Aaris's cardiologist. They did another EKG. They also did another ultrasound. I must give Aaris huge praise for being so brave all day today. At the hospital she had some times of fear, but she always came through strong. And by this afternoon the EKG and ultrasound didn't phase her at all and she was the perfect patient.

There is one thing Aaris did this afternoon that really amazed me to witness. While we were waiting for the cardiologist to come back with her test results Aaris asked me if she could play doctor. She asked me to pretend to be Aaris. She shocked me because she reenacted all the words and actions all of the doctors had with her all day long.
